What's covered?

  • The pursuit or defence of a claim relating to a contract for the sale, purchase, servicing, repair or hire of personal goods or services
  • A claim relating to physical damage to your personal property at your home
  • A claim against a third party if you suffer injury or death due to an accident or as a result of clinical negligence
  • If, as an employee or ex-employee, you experience a breach of your rights under your contract of employment
  • If you suffer nuisance, trespass or physical damage to your home
  • A claim to respond to a formal aspect or full enquiry into your personal Income Tax position from HM Revenue and Customs

What isn't covered? 

  • Claims that have less than 51% chance of winning the case 
  • We won't be able to cover legal costs for incidents which occurred prior to you buying this insurance
  • Any claim relating to a contract involving the construction or alteration of a building for your own use
  • Any claim arising from the purchase or sale of your home
  • An accident involving a motor vehicle where you were driving or were being carried as a passenger
  • Any claim for personal injury which wasn't caused by a specific or sudden incident, or which develops gradually

You’ll also have access to a 24/7 helpline so you can get advice and guidance from a legal expert on a variety of areas. And there’s no excess to pay on this cover.

If you have an existing home insurance policy with 1st Central and would like to add Family Legal Protection Cover, don’t worry, you can take out this cover at any time during the year, simply give us a call on 0333 043 2001 and we'll get it added to your policy.

How do I make changes to my home insurance policy?
