What is Car Insurance Excess?

A car insurance excess represents the amount you agree to pay towards the repair of your car in the event of an insurance claim. For example, if your car's damaged in an accident, and regardless of who’s to blame, your excess will define a set amount you'll have to pay towards the repairs, while your insurer will cover what's left of the cost.
